FAQ

  • What is Surfana Festival?

Surfana started as a surf school in Zandvoort but quickly grew into a collective.

Our philosophy is to live happily, fully enjoy life, and share this lifestyle with others. We bring this to life during Surfana Festival. A weekend full of love and passion for the good life, celebrating our way of living and inspiring others to choose a life based on happiness.

  • Where is Surfana Festival?

Surfana Festival takes place at Camping De Lakens, Zeeweg 60, 2051 EC, Overveen. Right in the dunes, close to the sea!

  • When is Surfana Festival?

Surfana Festival 2025 will take place on September 12, 13, and 14!

For those living nearby or with a camping ticket, there’s a pre-party on Thursday evening, September 11, to kick off the festival weekend in style!

  • What type of vehicle is the campervan ticket valid for?

Campervan tickets are only valid for campervans (vehicles that are not towed or carried by another vehicle).

A campervan is not a caravan or a car without a basic camping setup like a bed. Rooftop tents attached to the top of a vehicle are welcome.

  • Can I park during the festival?

Unfortunately not. There is no parking available at Surfana Festival.

You can easily reach us by public transport. Buses run as usual during the festival and stop right in front of us!

Coming from outside the Netherlands? We have a partnership with Choo-Choo Train for affordable travel to Surfana Festival!

You may drop off your friends & bags at our kiss-and-ride outside the festival check-in.

There are public parking areas nearby the festival, stay tuned for an up to date list.

  • Can I bring my own food and drinks to the festival?

With a weekend ticket, you can bring your own food and drinks to consume at your tent or campervan.

Cooking is only allowed on small camping gas stoves (no open fires or barbecues). Please don't bring your own food into the festival grounds, where you'll find plenty of food and drinks available.

  • Is Surfana Festival accessible for people with disabilities?

While the festival site is located in the dunes with uneven terrain, it remains manageable for wheelchair users to access and view the stages from dedicated platforms.

Additionally, the surroundings offer quiet spaces if needed.

At this stage, we are unfortunately unable to provide sign language interpretation for music performances.

  • How many shifts do I need to work as a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will be scheduled for approximately two six-hour shifts, depending on your availability and the shifts that need to be covered.

  • How will I receive my festival ticket?

Tickets are not immediately available but will be released 48 hours before the festival starts to prevent fraud and unauthorized resale.

Once they are available, you can find your ticket on your order status page. Access this page by clicking the "Download tickets" button in your confirmation email.

    No need to print:)

  • Can I arrive earlier and/or stay longer outside of the festival dates?

The campsite is open for festival visitors with a fullweekend ticket from Thursday at 4:00 PM until Monday at 10:00 AM. All ticket holders must leave their camping spot by then.

Would you like to arrive earlier or stay longer?

You can reserve a camping spot at Camping de Lakens directly via info@campingdelakens.nl or call +31(0) 23-5411570 for more information.

  • Can I resell or change my ticket?

It is not possible to receive a refund, upgrade, or change your tickets. If you want to come on a different day, we recommend selling your current ticket through TwicktSwap and purchasing a day ticket for the day you'd like to attend.

    Guide to resell you ticket

    • Step 1: Go to the order status page of your order. You can reach it by opening the confirmation email of your ordered tickets and clicking the ‘Download tickets’-link.
    • Step 2: Scroll down until you come across the ‘Can’t attend anymore?’ box. Here, you can click" Sell on TicketSwap" and you will be automatically redirected to TicketSwap

During the festival, spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to share a spot with your friends or family, make sure to arrive together so you can be placed close to each other.

  • Can I surf during the Festival?

You can rent Surfboards at Mifune. We rent them out in a first come, first serve basis for a small fee and we also offer surf lessons!

  • Can my child attend Surfana Festival (for free)?

Children of all ages are welcome at our festival! Kids up to 6 years old can join for free. For children aged 6 to 17 will require a kids ticket!

  • Can the campervan ticket be shared?

Campervan tickets are valid for the vehicle only, so 1 vehicle = 1 ticket. However, up to 6 persons can sleep in 1 campervan. They will all need a valid Weekend ticket.

  • Why can I only purchase a limited number of tickets per order?

We’ve noticed an increase in tickets being resold through third parties. If you’d like to place a large order, please contact us at: festival@surfana.com.

  • Do I have access to the festival ground with a campervan ticket?

A campervan ticket does not include festival access.

You need to purchase a separate festival weekend ticket for each person in addition to your campervan ticket.

Day tickets and multi day combo tickets are not valid in combination with a campervan ticket.

  • What if all ‘camping weekend’ tickets are sold out?

All weekend tickets include camping. If weekend tickets are sold out please check our official resell partner ‘TicketSwap’.

Please do not buy un-authorised third party tickets, we cannot guarantee your access if your ticket is not purchased from our official partners. You cannot camp on the festival campsite with day, or a combo-day tickets.

Nope. We offer some free workshops, but most require a small fee and must be booked in advance. Bookings open in June.
  • What’s not included as a volunteer?

Yes! We offer a wide range of kids' workshops and an extensive children's program. Many of the workshops are already kid-friendly, and later this summer we'll announce a full program specially designed for kids. Stay tuned!
  • Does weather affect my workshop?

Not at all! All workshops are held in sheltered areas, so they’ll go on regardless of the weather. Just remember to bring a sweater or sunscreen based on the conditions.
  • I’m neurodivergent / have a health condition or impairment – can I still join a workshop?

Yes, you can join most workshops. Please send us a short mail to festival@surfana.com to make sure we can meet your needs.
