Volunteer at Surfana Festival

Volunteering at Surfana Festival means becoming part of the beating heart of the festival. We simply couldn’t do it without you! As a volunteer, you help bring the festival to life, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors, artists, and fellow crew members.

You’ll be part of a vibrant community where work and fun go hand in hand. Whether setting up, keeping things running, or adding to the festival vibe, your role is essential. Along the way, you’ll meet amazing people, make new friends, and share plenty of laughs.

And the best part? When you’re off duty, you can enjoy everything Surfana has to offer—music, beach time, workshops, and pure festival vibes. With a weekend ticket, camping spot, and delicious meals covered, you’re set for an unforgettable weekend.

Join the crew, and experience the festival in the best way possible—on the inside!

What’s in it for you?

  • A full weekend festival ticket, so you can enjoy all the music and vibes when you’re off duty.
  • A camping spot, so you can pitch your tent at our crew campsite and fully immerse yourself in the festival experience.
  • Delicious meals during your working shifts, to keep your energy up and your spirits high.
  • A community event before the festival, so you can meet your fellow volunteers and get into the festival vibe.
  • A behind-the-scenes festival experience, so you can connect with amazing fellow volunteers and get a unique look at our festival.
  • A key role in creating Surfana magic, so you can make a real impact for visitors, artists, and the whole festival crew.

What to expect?

  • Availability for at least two days during the festival, build-up or break-down period.
  • Commitment to two shifts of around six hours (longer shifts for the build-up crew, but you’ll get to enjoy the full festival afterward).
  • A hands-on and enthusiastic attitude, ready to learn and help bring the festival to life for visitors, artists, and fellow crew members.
  • Volunteers aged 18 and older.

* We ask for a ticket deposit when you receive your schedule after signing up, which will be fully refunded after the event. If your budget doesn’t allow for this or you have any questions, please reach out to us via email at festivalcrew@surfana.com.

You’ve signed up—what’s next?

Volunteer application will remain open until June 12. After that we will review all applications based on availability and previous experience. We love to welcome new faces to our community so if you have signed up, please block the weekend or day you’ve signed up for in your agenda. Some applicants may be placed on the waiting list. You’ll find out in July whether you’ve been selected.

Next, we’ll start assigning teams, and you’ll receive a briefing with all the details about your volunteer role and schedule. With the schedule you will receive a schedule that you need to approve by handing in a ticket deposit as a confirmation that you accept the shift and role. Your ticket deposit will be fully refunded after the festival provided you attend as planned.

Please note that if the deposit is not paid by the start of August you will not be granted access to the festival and will no longer be considered for participation.

A handbook and all final information will be shared about a week before the festival, but you’ll already know the key details—your role, when, and where you’re expected.

On the festival day, we’ll welcome you and show you your workspace, making sure you’re fully prepared. But don’t worry, that’s still a little while away! Until then, we’ll keep you updated via email about community events and other updates.
